Your Automotive Shipment, Covered in Three Steps

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

Why Auto Parts Outgrow Carrier Liability

01

Forklift & handling damage

Engines and transmissions move on skids through busy cross-docks, one tip and the core is written off.

02

Crushed or punctured skids

Body panels and glass break when a skid is crushed, punctured or dropped. Damage from a covered handling accident is paid at the declared value.

03

Theft of high-demand parts

Catalytic converters, wheels and ECUs are prime targets, and theft pays $0 without proven carrier negligence.

Yes. Coverage works with Canada Post, UPS, FedEx, Purolator and DHL, plus LTL and FTL trucking, rail, ocean and air carriers. If yours isn’t listed, email support@shipsimple.ca.

Parcel shipments have no deductible. A freight deductible may apply, depending on the goods, and is shown on your certificate.

Yes. Domestic and international shipments are covered, as long as the origin and destination countries aren’t restricted.

No. Coverage has to be in place before the carrier picks the shipment up.

Firearms, ammunition and explosives; perishable, temperature-controlled and pharmaceutical goods; cash, gift cards, bullion and raw precious metals or stones; live animals and plants; and anything illegal to ship. Heavy machinery is covered on freight only. Alcohol, dangerous goods and tobacco can be insured with approval.

All-risk coverage against loss, theft and damage in transit, at invoice value up to your declared value, with limits of up to $250,000 per parcel and $500,000 per freight shipment.
